Carlsbad, Calif. (April 8, 2010) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company, makers of the No. 1 driver in golf, today announced a retail promotion with its best-selling Burner® 2009 irons. The concept is simple: Any consumer who purchases a set of TaylorMade’s Burner irons from today through June 30 will receive $100 in “Burner Bucks,” which can be used toward the purchase of TaylorMade equipment and/or balls.
“Similar to the leaps we have seen in driver innovation in the last 10 years, we believe the performance of the Burner irons has also set a certain innovation standard that the consumer can touch and feel,” said Mike Ferris, category VP Burner brand and product marketing. “This unique promotion provides consumers a great opportunity to play the hottest iron in the marketplace and purchase confidently knowing they will receive $100 in Burner bucks toward the purchase of TaylorMade equipment.”
Performance attributes such as SuperFast and Inverted Cone Technology, helped Burner ascend to the No. 1 selling iron model just three months after its initial launch last June.* This marked the first time that a TaylorMade iron had achieved No. 1 status in irons – a testament to the performance of the product.
Every club – long-irons, middle-irons and short-irons – earned high marks for distance, accuracy and forgiveness during TaylorMade testing. Likewise its revolutionary design, featuring a futuristic blend of curves, angles and lines, is completed with a dark, almost sinister finish. More important, each one of these sleek machines performs like nothing else.
TaylorMade tests indicated many players gaining as much as 15 yards in distance with the Burner 4-iron compared to their current 4-iron, including tour professionals.
The new Burner irons are available in full sets that include 4-iron through attack wedge. Burner 3-iron, sand wedge and lob wedge are also available. All clubs offered in left-handed with the exception of the lob wedge.
