(HALF MOON BAY, Calif.) – Half Moon Bay Golf Links today announces the “Moon Mullins Golf Academy, Junior Golf Camp,” including four days of golf instruction, world-class golf on the Ocean and Old courses, and three nights’ accommodations at the top-rated Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, exclusively offered July 11-14 and July 14-17 for $1,695.
The package includes: daily professional PGA group instruction and golf rounds at Half Moon Bay Golf Links’ two nationally-ranked golf courses for one junior golfer; preferred adult lesson and tee time rates for parents/guardians; luxury overnight accommodations and resort services including a world-class spa and tennis complex at one of the Bay Area’s premier hotels, located on the dramatic Pacific Ocean bluffs.
The comprehensive itinerary features an arrival barbeque, program orientation, student skills evaluation, putting championship, four-hole junior course tournament, champion’s lunch and awards, Northern California Golf Association junior certification and commemorative gift.
Short-game, bunker-play, full-swing and on-course playing lessons are part of the multi-day curriculum. Instruction programs are conducted in the morning, and afternoons are free for golf and other activities in and around the charming coastal town of Half Moon Bay, which offers shopping, coastal trails and numerous dining options.
“Keeping junior golfers and their families engaged with the game of golf is paramount to attracting and retaining new players,” says Bill Troyanoski, General Manager. “The Junior Golf Camp is designed for beginner and intermediate players and was developed to create a learning environment that is fun and inspiring for everyone.”
The academy is named in honor of Clyde Evert “Moon” Mullins, Half Moon Bay Golf Links’ first head professional and good-will ambassador. In 1970, Mullins discovered the seaside property that he, together with long-time friend Arnold Palmer, would transform into one of the world’s premier golf resorts. Over the next 30 years, Mullins could be spotted on the golf course with such luminaries as Joe DiMaggio, Willie Mays and Jackie Gleason. His legacy of excellence in golf instruction continues on in the Moon Mullins Golf Academy.

About Half Moon Bay Golf Links
Set against the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Half Moon Bay Golf Links is located just minutes from San Francisco and San Jose, and only 20 miles from San Francisco International Airport. The golf resort features thirty-six holes of championship golf; a clubhouse with a full-service pro shop offering the latest equipment and fashionable apparel; and the popular ocean-view restaurant, Mullins Bar & Grill, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual fireside dining setting.
For nearly 40 years, avid golfers have been returning to this incomparable setting, enjoying the variety of play offered by two award-winning courses: Arnold Palmer’s classic American parkland-styled The Old Course and the Scottish-links-styled Ocean Course designed by Arthur Hills.
The Old Course is a classic American design, with a series of strategically-demanding holes linked through the property’s interior. The famous, par-5 18th emerges along the Pacific Ocean, boasting one of the most stunning tee-to-green views in the U.S. It plays up to The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay’s oceanfront courtyard and fire pit, creating one of the most exciting finishes in the state.
The Ocean Course provides a true links golf experience: the salt air of the Pacific a constant as it is transported via the constant breeze from the Ocean just yards away. Fairways are separated by coastal mounding and native grasses, and open green fronts and creatively designed green surrounds support a variety of different playing options. It has been enhanced to feature a fast-and-firm playing surface tee through green that adds multiple shot opportunities and fosters short game creativity.
The Ocean Course hosted the 2008 LPGA Samsung World Championship, featuring the world’s best women golfers and won by Paula Creamer. Half Moon Bay Golf Links is also a regular site for U.S. Open Men’s and Women’s qualifiers, most recently in 2009.
The golf courses are managed by Kenmark Golf Management, for more information about Kenmark please visit www.kenmark.com
