ORLANDO, Fla., (April 14, 2010) -Golfweek magazine, the publication preferred by serious golfers, will mark the beginning of golf’s busiest season by releasing three exciting special editions – the Amateur Issue, the Women’s Issue and the Casino Golf Issue – each of which is dedicated to an increasingly important aspect of the game.
Golfweek’s 11th annual Amateur Issue will be released April 30 and will salute those players who compete not for the money, but for the sheer love of the game. This year’s highly anticipated issue will feature exclusive content, an in-depth story on Chambers Bay (site of this year’s U.S. Amateur) and a profile on Margaret and Harriot Curtis, for whom the Curtis Cup was named. The Amateur Issue will also pay tribute to a handful of local legends that have made an indelible mark on the game in their respective regions.
Shining a spotlight on fearless females who play the game with passion and precision, Golfweek’s inaugural Women’s Issue, ÌâåÂdubbed “Golfweek for Her,” debuts May 19 and will highlight the innate style and flair of women’s golf. This special edition will include comprehensive guides and pictorials – covering everything from equipment to fitness to fashion – as well as in-depth features and reports on many of golf’s leading ladies, including Annika Sorenstam, Anna Rawson and Michelle Wie.
Meanwhile, Golfweek’s May 21 Casino Golf Issue will center around the game’s greatest golf and gaming destinations. In addition to taking a closer look at the nation’s hottest casino courses and the genre’s best risk/reward holes, this thrilling special edition will also explore the theory that casino operators may be golf’s last best hope for new course construction in a struggling economy.
“These dedicated issues are prime examples of how Golfweek goes further and digs deeper to cover every facet of the game of golf,” said Jeff Babineau, editor and vice president of Golfweek. “It’s this comprehensive coverage, writing about all things golf, that continues to make Golfweek the favorite weekly among serious golfers.”
