ORLANDO, Fla. (April 15, 2010) – The GolfNow.com online tee time reservation service passed the 2,000-course milestone with a record month of course activations in March.
A service of Golf Channel, GolfNow.com markets tee times for golf courses across the U.S., helping golfers search for available tee times and make reservations that fit their schedules and budgets.
GolfNow.com added 115 courses in March to pass the 2,000-course milestone, expanding its lead as the Internet’s largest and most comprehensive online tee time booking service. Since acquiring the service in April 2008, Golf Channel has seen the number of GolfNow participating courses more than double and expand to 45 states.
The growth is attributed to the value course managers and golfers find in the service, according to Gene Pizzolato, COO of New Media Ventures for Golf Channel.
“Participating course owners and operators are realizing very healthy increases in incremental traffic and revenues,” Pizzolato said. “And golfers are finding the service easy to navigate and a convenient way to save time and money.”
The record number of bookings in March, Pizzolato added, is a sign that golfers have a “comfort level” with the GolfNow service and that “after a long and brutal winter in many parts of the country, there’s a lot of pent-up demand to get back on the course.”
In 2009, golfers booked 3.8 million rounds through the GolfNow.com site, generating more than $121 million in incremental revenues for partner courses.
