PLANO, TEXAS, April 21, 2010 – For the aspiring player who wants tour-proven performance with forgiveness in their golf clubs, Adams Golf introduces an innovative line of premium products under a new brand name-Idea Black. The world-class product offering includes the Idea Black CB2 forged irons and the Idea Black Super Hybrid. These latest offerings feature the highest quality materials, premium shafts and sleek looks that discerning golfers appreciate as well as a track record of success and acceptance by professional players.
Idea Black CB2 Irons
Designed for aspiring players, the Idea Black CB2 irons set consists of the 4-iron through gap wedge, all forged from soft 8620 carbon steel and featuring a distinctive Ni-Cr (nickel chromium) plated finish for a sleek, hot look. Built with multiple technically advanced features, the CB2 irons deliver superior performance and workability with an exceptional feel.
The irons included in the Idea Black CB2 set features a vibration absorbing cavity design for optimal feel and sound. Dual perimeter weighting lowers the center of gravity for increased forgiveness and the progressive offset optimizes trajectories and distance through the entire set. A four-way cambered sole also reduces turf interaction for consistent ball-striking and shot-making. Each head in the CB2 set has milled grooves that comply with 2010 USGA competition requirements while maximizing spin from all playing conditions.
“The Idea Black CB2 iron set is a world-class product that will appeal to a wide range of players,” said Michael Vrska, Director of Product Development. “We spared nothing when we designed this set and our expertise in developing aesthetically pleasing and industry-leading iron technology will definitely be on display the first time you see and hit these clubs-the playability and appearance of this set is unmatched.”
The stock shafts for the Idea Black CB2 iron set are the KBS Tour 90 steel shaft or the Matrix Studio 84 graphite shaft, available in regular, stiff or extra-stiff flexes. Offered standard in a right-handed and left-handed 4-GW set configuration, the Idea Black CB2 iron sets begin shipping to fine golf shops May 14 with a suggested retail price of $899.99 for steel and $1,099.99 for graphite.
Idea Black Super Hybrid
Expanding on its position as the maker of the No. 1 hybrid irons in golf, Adams Golf developed the Idea Black Super Hybrid to meet the needs of aspiring players. Featuring a dramatic Ni-Cr plated surface for a striking dark look, the Super Hybrid delivers increased distance while maintaining versatility and forgiveness.
By combining a larger hybrid head, a maraging steel face and longer shaft length, the Super Hybrid delivers 2.5 mph more ball speed and seven yards more distance than traditional hybrids. A tri-level sole design reduces turf interference for ease of play from the tee, fairway or rough and an adjustable weight screw allows for swing-weight modifications. The Super Hybrid also delivers maximum playability and forgiveness with 85 grams of sole weighting and 17 percent greater MOI.
“The Super Hybrid is a new breed of hybrid that advances this category of clubs well beyond just long-iron replacement,” said Tim Reed, Vice President of Research and Development for Adams Golf. “The Super Hybrid is truly a hybrid on steroids; bigger and more powerful. It’s built for players looking for a high performance hybrid that provides maximum distance while maintaining forgiveness and playability.”
The Idea Black Super Hybrid is offered right-handed (15 degree, 17 degree, 19 degree and 21 degree) and left-handed (15 degree, 17 degree and 19 degree). The stock shaft is the Aldila VooDoo NV 85 gram graphite shaft in regular, stiff or extra-stiff flexes. The Idea Black Super Hybrid has a suggested retail price of $249.99 and will begin shipping to fine golf shops on April 27.
