UCLA replaces Arizona State as top team in D-I Poll
NEW YORK, NY-The fourth Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the April 26 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-tours-news/blogs/college-golf/womens-coaches-polls-1/
UCLA, thanks to victories at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and the Ping ASU Invitational, jumped into the top spot in the poll, knocking Arizona State from No. 1 for the first time all season. The Bruins earned 21 of 36 first-place votes. The last time UCLA was ranked No. 1 in the Golf World/NGCA coaches’ poll was April 13, 2009.
ASU fell only one spot to No. 2 and earned the other 15 first-place votes. Auburn remained No. 3 while Duke and USC were Nos. 4 and 5, swapping places from the previous poll.
Wake Forest joined the top-10 at No. 9. The Demon Deacons won a second straight ACC title this past weekend at Sedgefield CC in Greensboro, N.C.
Florida State (T-22) moved into the top-25. The Seminoles have won two of their last three tournaments under interim coach Kate Golden
