LAKE MARY, FL – Three high-profile members of the Women In The Golf Industry organization will conduct an educational panel at the 20th Anniversary ING Spring Conference May 9-13 at historic Pinehurst Resort in the Sandhills of North Carolina.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual gathering.
The topic of the panel centers on one of golf’s fastest growing and most important segments – women. The panelists will focus on how to attract and keep women customers, along with women’s role in the golf industry. The panel will take place on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.
The three WIGI panelists are:
Jan Bel Jan is a highly respected golf course designer worldwide. Bel Jan’s specialties include strategically identifying ecological opportunities that enhance golf course playability, value and aesthetics; and, designing/ retro-fitting golf facilities to be more women, family, and access friendly.
Barn Hanson, President of Corporate Golf Services, has combined her passion for golf with her skills as a teacher and coach in developing educational golf events and women’s golf programming. As a consultant and speaker, she is an expert at working with both groups and individuals to instill confidence as well as a sense of enjoyment of the game. She is the current president of WIGI.
Debbie O’Connell is a 19-year veteran of women’s professional golf and a Class A rated member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Membership. In 2007 she was the recipient of the LPGA’s prestigious Nancy Lopez Achievement Award. Previously she has been honored as the LPGA’s National and Southeast Section “Professional of the Year.” She has also worked on the media side as radio show host of “The Debbie O’Connell Show.”
The ING Spring Conference features four days of product presentation, networking, education, golf and business-building opportunities. The One-On One Appointment Show and the Demo Lab are among the popular elements of this gathering of media and business leaders.
The ING Spring Conference reaches a major milestone this year with its 20th anniversary event. Former Golf Channel commentator Adam Barr will guide the conference attendees through the various elements as the master of ceremonies.
The ING Conference schedule is jammed with educational, networking and product display opportunities. The highlights:

5) Motivational session with one of the best in the world, Chip Eichelberger, formerly of the Tony Robbins company.
6) Lots of golf events, including the International Pairs World Qualifier, a two-player team event from which the winners will advance to compete in the world championship in Scotland in October. Course No. 4 will host that major competition.
