New golf academy to capitalize on more than 30-years of proven experience
MIAMI, Fl (April 26, 2010) – When the Jim McLean Junior Academy officially opens its doors in August; it will have 30-years of proven experience in preparing and teaching junior golfers. Top-100 Teacher Jim McLean, ranked No. 4, and owner of the No. 1 Ranked Golf School in the U.S., has been a huge proponent of junior golf for over 30-years and has helped thousands of junior golfers over the years. In fact, McLean helped elevate the games of Cristie Kerr (the highest ranked American on the LPGA Tour), Alexis Thompson, and Derek Fathauer (currently on the PGA TOUR).
McLean’s work with Kerr helped the former winner of the U.S. Women’s Open become the first golfer to ever hold the No. 1 Ranking in Junior Golf and Amateur Golf at the same time, and McLean helped Thompson repeat the feat last summer. Thompson is currently ranked No. 1 in Junior Golf and No. 3 in Amateur Golf.
“My team has a long history with juniors. You might know I have been strongly associated with the FCWT (Future Collegian World Tour) for over a decade. I began running large junior golf programs over 30-years ago. We have literally hundreds of juniors receive scholarships to colleges across the country, and many of you might know about the junior elite programs we have run at Doral for over 15 years,” said McLean.
McLean’s goals for his new Junior Academy are simple: “To provide students an environment that allows them the opportunity to achieve their personal golf goals,” he said. “Student’s will also learn life skills such as honesty, integrity, commitment, work ethic, time management, and a strong mind. Students will be educated to follow the rules, to love and respect the game, and to become a champion in sport and life.”
As far as the instruction is concerned, it’s second-to-none. The Jim McLean teaching system has turned out eight (8) golfers who achieved the No. 1 ranking in junior golf. In fact, legendary teacher Ben Doyle said, “You can get ready for the U.S. Open at the Jim McLean Junior Academy.”
