LAKE MARY, FL – The golf business has changed so much in the last five years, in some cases leaving people and companies in its wake. What will the industry resemble five years from now?
That will be the topic for the lead educational panel at the 20th Anniversary ING Spring Conference May 9-13 at historic Pinehurst Resort in the Sandhills of North Carolina.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual gathering.
The future of the golf industry will be discussed from several angles – equipment, courses and operations, travel, instruction and media. The panelists will focus on not only what they predict for the future, but how we as an industry can affect the direction golf takes. The panel will take place on Monday, 8:30 a.m.
The panelists are:
Kyle Phillips has more than 25 years of experience designing golf courses in locations such as Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, North America and South America. His resume includes Kingsbarns Golf Links in Scotland, ranked in Top 50 in the world. Currently he is doing a remodel of, Valderamma in Spain.
Sean Toulon is the Executive V.P., Product, Brand Creation, at TaylorMade-adidas Golf. Since 2000 he has spearheaded the creation of exceptional clubs that have helped bring the brand back to prominence both in the marketplace and on the world’s professional golf tours, including the No. 1 driver today, the R9.
Roger Pride of Visit Wales has had a very big job as of late. His charge is to make sure his country gains the utmost in golf travel and exposure through promotion of the 2010 Ryder Cup, being held at one of the nation’s premier resorts, Celtic Manor, in September. He will address the direction of the golf travel business.
Karen Palacios-Jansen is the Managing Editor of Golf Fitness magazine, and former LPGA National Teacher of the Year. She is owner of Swing Blade Enterprises, and developer of Cardio Golf™ exercise program.
The ING Spring Conference features four days of product presentation, networking, education, golf and business-building opportunities. The One-On One Appointment Show and the Demo Lab are among the popular elements of this gathering of media and business leaders.
