McLean’s complete interview with Crenshaw for “Ben Hogan: The Golf Swing” debuts tonight
MIAMI, Fl (May 4, 2010) – Over the course of its first year, The Golfers Nation has featured great interviews on Classic Conversations, and tonight on http://thegolfersnation.com a special series of shows debuts with two-time Masters Champion Ben Crenshaw.
Originally taped in 1999, just after Crenshaw led the U.S. to victory over Europe in the Ryder Cup, Crenshaw spoke about a wide-range of topics with the main focus concentrating on Ben Hogan. The interview was one of many Jim McLean conducted for his award-winning video, “Ben Hogan: The Golf Swing”. In tonight’s episode, Crenshaw focuses mainly on Hogan’s clubs and discusses the following:
* Hogan said to use cord grips. Rubber grips are slippery and costs you two strokes per round
* Hogan designed golf clubs based on his setup, and they were somewhat longer than other golf clubs
* Hogan’s clubs were the stiffest Crenshaw ever swung. In fact, Crenshaw said they were like swinging a “pipe”
Past episodes of Classic Conversations are still available on http://thegolfersnation.com and include interviews with such stars as Ken Venturi, Jackie Burke, and other great golfers from the days of yesteryear.
