“The hottest shafts in golf” still #1 with wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer count wins on PGA Tour
POWAY, Calif. – The winner of the Stadion Athens Classic at UGA used Aldila’s VS Proto™ and NV® Hybrid shafts to help capture his first Nationwide Tour title. He finished with a 12-under 272 (67-70-64-71) to win by one stroke and collect a $99,000 first place check, which catapulted him from 16th to second place on the Nationwide Tour’s Top 25 Money List.
The current leading money winner on the Nationwide Tour switched to the RIP in his Driver this week and improved his distance so much that he finished second in Driving Distance with a four-day average of 324.8 yards. He was also tied for 20th in Driving Accuracy with a 66.1 percent and finished in seventh place at the Stadion Athens Classic.
“RIP is Aldila’s most recent shaft technology that provides a lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The RIP is in high demand across the PGA and Nationwide Tours and will be released later this year through some of the major OEM’s product lines.”
With more and more Tour players switching to the RIP, Aldila continues to maintain its status as the #1 Shaft on Tour. “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Quail Hollow Championship on the PGA Tour and the hybrid shaft count on the Nationwide Tour, according to the Darrell Survey.
Aldila is the leading name in graphite golf shafts: It won golf’s Grand Slam in 2009, being the most used wood and hybrid shafts at every Major on the PGA Tour. For two years it has been the most played wood and hybrid shaft at every FedEx Cup Playoff event.
