America’s largest Demo Day promotes participation in the game and the latest golf products of some 150+ manufacturers
SACRAMENTO, Ca. – The Haggin Oaks Golf Complex announced today record revenue numbers for their 35th Annual Haggin Oaks Golf Expo & Demo Day, April 30, May 1 & 2, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif- besting 2009 numbers by 14%.
More than 21,000 golfers traveled to “America’s Largest Demo Day” (Friday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily) to test the hottest equipment and accessories from 150+ manufacturers; experience the latest launch monitors & Tour Tech vans; trade in old clubs; and shop in the 15,000 square foot Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop.
“We’re thrilled with the growth of this event and our new partnership with Golf Digest and Golf World and being part of their Experience Tour,” says Ken Morton Jr., director of retail at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. “I’m sure my dad had no idea how much this would grow since his first attempt in 1977. This is a great benefit to consumers in that they can talk to and be educated by experts, try and compare several models from many manufacturers and be fitted right on the spot for equipment. Our new partnership builds on our past success and we expect to raise the bar even higher.”
A manufacturer’s rep was on hand at each booth to expertly answer all questions. The latest 2010 equipment in all the available specs were on hand for free trials — a perfect opportunity to try out the hottest drivers and compare favorite models side-by-side.
In conjunction with The PGA of America’s national “Free Fitting & Trade Up Month”, the Haggin Oaks Golf Demo Day & Expo also offered free club fitting and equipment trade-in opportunities. Several PGA Tour manufacturer-fitting vans were on hand- doing more than 190 pre-scheduled fittings on these technological marvels and manufacturing plants on wheels.
Golfers even cashed in on their “retired” golf gear. Haggin Oaks had trade-in specialists on hand, offering maximum dollar for thousands of clubs, staff bags, pull carts and old training aids. Gift certificates were issued on the spot for use in the Haggin Oaks Super Store. “So few places take them now, and there’s not much that we won’t take in,” says Morton Jr. “Everybody has used equipment in their garages; they can clean it out and buy some new stuff utilizing their old stuff.”
Golf lifestyle booths included health and fitness, travel, golf courses from Reno-Tahoe and the coast, as well as many different accessory lines.
Managed by Morton Golf, the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex is located between Interstate 80 and Business 80 in Sacramento, 3645 Fulton Ave. The driving range has 100 stalls under lights and can be reached at 916-481-GOLF or www.hagginoaksgolfexpo.com for additional information.
