HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (Hank Haney IJGA) and the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) are proud to announce a continued partnership with BMW of North America Southern Region.
As part of the agreement, BMW will be designated as the “Official Vehicle of Hank Haney IJGA”. In addition, BMW will serve as presenting sponsor of the IJGT’s 2010 Tournament of Champions, being held May 27th-31st at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The “2010 Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions presented by BMW” is one of the most prestigious junior golf events around the world. This invitation-only event will include 200 of the top- ranked junior golfers from over 30 countries and every state within the continental United States. During the event, families of participants will have the opportunity to experience the BMW brand first-hand by test driving a broad range of BMW and MINI vehicles, including the all-new MY 2011 5 Series Sedan, the 550 Gran Turismo, and BMW Advanced Diesel Technology in the X5 xDrive35d and 335d Sedan.
BMW will also be an exclusive sponsor of IJGT’s Team USA in their two international events this summer, the North American Cup and the Euro Cup. IJGT Team USA is comprised of the top 14 male and female junior golfers who competed on the IJGT during the previous season.
The North American Cup will take place July 5th-8th at May River Golf Course in Bluffton, SC. The event is held each year and the 2011 tournament is slated to take place at Weston Golf Club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. IJGT Team USA will compete against the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) in a Ryder Cup style format, which includes three rounds of golf. The Euro Cup, also an annual Ryder Cup style event, will be played at St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland on July 23rd-31st. The tournament consists of three rounds of golf and IJGT Team USA will compete against Fife Golf Union’s Team Scotland and the CJGA.
