LAKE MARY, FL – The largest number of attendees in three years of the ING Spring Conference enjoyed what most deemed a very successful 20th anniversary celebration of the International Network of Golf last week at Pinehurst Resort.

Over 170 from all walks of the golf industry and media participated in this annual gathering, conducted by the non-profit ING.

One of the highlights was the opening panel discussion including Sean Toulon, executive vice president, product and brand creation for TaylorMade-adidas Golf, Roger Pride, director of marketing of Visit Wales & the Welsh Assembly Government, Jim Dunlap, editor/reporter for Pellucid and Kyle Phillips of Kyle Phillips Golf Course Design.

These four leaders of the golf industry provided ING members with candid opinions about where the industry stands now and where it is headed over the next five years. While the industry has been at the mercy of the troubled economy, the panel felt, that like the economy, there is a cause for guarded optimism provided the correct path is taken.

Other highlights from the conference:
Certified Speaking Professional Chip Eichelberger rocked the crowd on opening day with an interactive motivational session that sent the audience away with new life-changing ideas.
Social Media expert Georgina Lewis gave the audience strategies for a thorough and consistent Internet presence.

The popular One-On-One Appointment Show once again received high marks from attendees, as did the Demo Lab that took place at Pinehurst No. 8.

Jim Smith and Paul Piro teamed to win the International Pairs World Qualifier, and will represent the USA at the world finals this October in Scotland.

Women In The Golf Industry conducted an informative panel entitled “Attract And Keep Female Customers.”

Ann Liguori was awarded the Chi Chi Rodriguez ING Humanitarian Award for her work with the Ann Liguori Foundation. And ING president John Glozek was added to the prestigious ING Diamond Cornerstone Club for his contributions to the organization over the past few years.

It was also announced that the 2011 ING Spring Conference will take place May 22-26 at Innisbrook Resort in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater, FL region.
