LAKE MARY, FL – Ann Liguori was named the recipient of the ING Chi Chi Rodriguez Humanitarian Award recently at the 20th Anniversary ING Spring Conference at Pinehurst Resort.
Liguori, a veteran radio and TV journalist from New York, was honored for her work within the Ann Liguori Foundation, and for her fund-raising efforts for cancer research.
The ING Spring Conference is conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. The annual gathering of media and business leaders was conducted at historic Pinehurst Resort in the Sandhills of North Carolina.
The Chi Chi award goes to a member of the media whose actions have contributed to the betterment of youth, and society in general.
After hosting and organizing an annual celebrity charity golf event in The Hamptons every year for 14 years which raised over 1.5 million dollars for the American Cancer Society, Liguori wanted to help even more people on Long Island and in particular, the East End of Long Island where she lives.
So three years ago she put together the Ann Liguori Foundation
The Ann Liguori Foundation is a 501c3 public charity and their mission is to raise funds and awareness for organizations who work in the field of cancer prevention, research and cancer care-related charities, both locally and nationally, specifically directed to help people on the East End of Long Island.
One of the innovative programs that Ann Liguori Foundation brought to Long Island for the first time this past year is ‘Healthy Children, Healthy Futures,’ teaching young people about good nutrition and fitness as a cancer preventative.
The ING Spring Conference featured four days of product presentation, networking, education, golf and business-building opportunities. The One-On One Appointment Show and the Demo Lab remained among the popular elements of this gathering of media and business leaders.
