MATTOON, IL – Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System will host its 21st annual golf benefit on Friday, June 11, at the Mattoon Golf & Country Club. Net proceeds from the event will help benefit “Campaign 2010, Funding the Future,” a campaign to fund the mission and vision of Sarah Bush Lincoln in the community.
Dixon Golf, an environmentally friendly golf company, is the sponsoring in the tournament. The sponsorship gives the winner a host of benefits, including free golf balls and discounted merchandise, amongst others. The Benefit has a 7:30 am shotgun, with registration beginning at 6:30 am. Lunch will be served from 11 am to 2 pm in the clubhouse, with an afternoon flight beginning at 1 pm.
“It’s important to give back, that’s one of Dixon’s core values. So anytime we can help with a tournament for a great cause we will,” says Dixon CEO William Carey.
The SBL will be the first chance for many to experience Dixon’s signature golf ball, the Dixon Earth. Made from recyclable material, the Earth along with the Wind and the forthcoming Fire represent the first family of environmentally conscious golf balls. The Tempe, Arizona based company has steadily been expanding its reach over the course of this year.
Campaign 2010 will help raise funds to renovate and expand critical areas of the Health Center. The campaign also supports Sarah Bush Lincoln’s initiative to create healthy communities through a Healthy Kids program, which will feature Kids Fest on September 11.
The cost to participate in the golf event starts at $100. For more information, to purchase raffle tickets or to register for the golf benefit, please contact Kim Lockart in the SBL Foundation office at 238- or 348-4765.
