Award-Winning Tallahassee Golf Course Hosting Two-Person Scramble For Parents & Children of All Ages
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) — SouthWood Golf Club — the award-winning Fred Couples and Gene Bates designed course owned by The St. Joe Company and managed by Billy Casper Golf — today announces the 2010 Parent – Junior Challenge, for children of all ages, Saturday, June 19 at 1 p.m.
The 2010 Parent – Junior Challenge will be a two-person scramble with children and their parents teaming up to enjoy one of Florida’s most celebrated golf courses. Prizes will be awarded to winners based on both gross and net score.
Teams will be placed in the following groups based on a child’s age:
• Eight and under
• 9-10
• 11-12 (Separate Boys & Girls Divisions)
• 13-18 (Separate Boys & Girls Divisions)
Teams with children 10 and under will play nine holes with an entry fee of $35 for members and $50 for non-members. Teams with children 11-18 will play 18 holes with an entry fee of $50 for members and $75 for non-members. In addition to golf, the entry fee includes a cart, range balls and ice cream.
“The Parent – Junior Challenge is a chance for children to not only play golf with a parent, but actually compete right alongside them,” says Beth Murphy, General Manager of SouthWood Golf Club. “The tournament is set-up so that children of all ages will be able to share this experience with a parent.”
Entry forms for the Parent – Junior Challenge can be found at SouthWood Golf Club. A completed entry form and entry fee must be received by Friday, June 18.
