Aerotech’s SteelFiber Scores Top 10 At Memorial

BELLINGHAM, Washington – Aerotech Golf announces that its No. 1-selling SteelFiber composite iron shafts scored a Top 10 finish at the Memorial Tournament at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. The strong finish was the fifth Top 10 money position earned this year for SteelFiber, an innovative composite shaft design utilizing unique composite technology.

The No. 3 player in the PGA Tour’s all-around ranking and 11th on the Money List played SteelFiber i95 taper tip constant weight shafts in his irons and shot 69.39 percent Greens in Regulation at the Memorial, which is nearly five points greater than the PGA Tour average (64.92%).

“This is the second year in a row that we’ve finished in the Top 10 at the Memorial, and SteelFiber shafts are clearly demonstrating that you don’t have to play steel-shafted irons to win top money on the professional tours. Our SteelFiber shafts have earned a solid reputation for lighter weights and vibration-dampening characteristics of a composite shaft, while still retaining the control and stability of steel,” says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.

Hilleary explains the Aerotech SteelFiber shaft design is unlike any other shaft on the pro tours and it brings together graphite and steel fiber to seamlessly create a perfect blend of power and stability. The shafts deliver extreme performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

Specializing in uniquely engineered, performance-enhancing golf shafts, Aerotech has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Nike, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Fenwick, Srixon, Lynx, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
