The Antigua Group, Inc., one of the nation’s leading golf apparel manufacturers announced that it has expanded DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE to its Rendition Jackets for 2010.
The two-way stretch fabric allows the Rendition jacket to be lightweight and resistant to water. It’s easier to move and stretch. Antigua has designed this fabric that stretches and doesn’t let water in – a perfect fit for its golf outerwear.
Sean Gregg, the head designer for Antigua says, “The Rendition jackets have been very well-received by consumer, in fact so well received, that Antigua is now looking to do windshirts, pullover jackets and full-zip outerwear. We’ve been doing the performance category for the last four or five years in golf and when the golf industry first introduced performance fabrics we did color blending and things appropriate for performance. ”
Gregg adds, “We’ll take it into a more sophisticated color palette with cleaner styling. Performance product doesn’t have to be a bright color-block look. We’ve expanded the performance demographic to include something anyone, whether they are young or mature, can wear out-on or off the course.”
Also new for Spring 2010 is the proprietary DESERT DRY™ Bamboo.
DESERT DRY™ BAMBOO is a combination of Antigua’s exclusive DESERT DRY™ moisture wicking feature combined with environmentally friendly bamboo blended fabrics for maximum wicking performance and optimum comfort. Using Bamboo as a fabrication in Antigua’s performance collection not only offers the consumer additional choices in natural fabrics intended to be friendly to the environment – but the bamboo fiber itself is an extremely supple fiber with the same moisture wicking aspects as synthetics that knits into an exceptionally comfortable garment and still allows Antigua to achieve the performance ability of the garment and classify it as one of its new DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE products.
DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE (D2XL) combines Antigua’s exclusive DESERT DRY™ moisture-wicking feature with specially constructed ultra-light fabrics for maximum wicking performance and optimum comfort. The additional benefits of DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE are:
• Moisture wicks more rapidly
• Lighter weight on body
• Less heat trapped on body
• Less restrictive movement
Antigua’s new DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE is an extremely light fabric without being sheer. The three-dimensional construction is what makes the fabric extremely light without being sheer or see-through. Because the fabric has a lighter weight construction, DESERT DRY™ XTRA-LITE wicks away moisture even quicker than Antigua’s proprietary DESERT DRY™, a performance fabric the company created when it introduced its performance category for golf several years ago.
