Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg, Calif., Linville Ridge Country Club in Linville, N.C. and Country Club of Darien in Darien, Conn., are the winners in Golf Inc. magazine’s annual Renovation of the Year competition.
“This year’s entries for Renovation of the Year were exceptional,” said Katina Cavagnaro, publisher of Golf Inc. “We are honored to highlight these outstanding renovation projects from some of the world’s most distinguished operators and notable courses.”
All of the winners for the 2009 competition will be recognized in the Summer Issue of Golf Inc. magazine.
Country Club of Darien in Darien, Conn., was the winner in the projects over $4 million category. Runner-up was Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif. The finalists were Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside, Calif., Town of Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course in Palm Beach, Fla., and The Las Vegas Country Club in Las Vegas, N.V.
Linville Ridge Country Club in Linville, N.C., was the winner in the projects $1.6 million to $4 million category. Runner-up was West Palm Beach Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Fla. The finalists were Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Mo., Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern, Pa., and Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla.
Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg, Calif., was the winner in the projects under $1.5 million category. Runner-up was Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, Mass. The finalists were River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, Firestone Country Club – South Course in Akron, Ohio, and Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
Judges for the competition were John Harbottle of John Harbottle Design, Jeff Brauer of GolfScapes and Doc Belitz of OB Sports.
