COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 11, 2010) – Boxgroove (www.boxgroove.com), an inventive, reliable online network offering golfers the opportunity to play private golf courses of their choosing, announces a partnership with the North Florida PGA. Both entities have as goals to encourage involvement in and enjoyment of golf and to help foster the growth of the game.
“Boxgroove is proud to partner with the North Florida PGA,” said McRedmond Morelli, founder and CEO of Boxgroove. “Northern and central Florida are areas with many fine golf courses, and we are excited about the shared programs and communication this new partnership will bring. Boxgroove members now have the opportunity to experience more of Florida’s finest private-club venues.”
More than a tee-time aggregator, reciprocal-club network or fractionalized country-club membership, Boxgroove offers players seeking diverse golf experiences the opportunity to forge new golf relationships and play private courses in the United States, which they select from the Boxgroove options. Boxgroove provides members with meaningful opportunities to play private golf clubs around the U.S., a powerful arena for business and social networking, a simple Web-based method of accessing tee times at private golf clubs and a national community that shares passion for the game. For business or vacation travel, or even a weekend away, Boxgroove provides members with the chance to explore appealing golf venues while meeting new players or bringing their own guest.
According to the agreement, the NFPGA will promote Boxgroove.com through appropriate media channels including print materials, sign and banner mentions, social networking, referrals and other communication modes. The NFPGA also will conduct an annual One-Day Pro Am, to take place in late fall at a site to be determined. The NFPGA private clubs and their members who register in the Boxgroove.com network are eligible to participate in the One-Day Pro Am; additional monies will support the prize purse and amenities based on the revenues generated by the NFPGA Clubs during the course of the year. A percentage of the commission collected by Boxgroove.com on rounds books at NFPGA courses will be contributed to the One-Day Pro-Am prize purse. NFPGA Members who are not based at private clubs also are eligible to participate in the annual One-Day Pro Am, based on the number of participating members who register at Boxgroove.com and use the network. NFPGA members can register at Boxgroove.com, where they will have two choices of membership.
“We look forward to working with Boxgroove,” said John Reger, Jr., PGA, president of NFPGA and founder and president of Briefcase Golf, Inc. “The networking opportunities and flexibility of the program should be productive and rewarding.” Reger, a 28-year member of the PGA of America, has an extensive background in the golf industry.
The NFPGA is a group of approximately 1500 PGA Members and Apprentices serving the needs of the golfers of North Florida. One of the 41 Sections that comprise the PGA of America, it is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979. The NFPGA is the fourth largest Section in the PGA, consisting geographically of the 41 counties from Tallahassee to Jacksonville in the north and from North Port Charlotte to Melbourne in the south.
Founded in 1916, the PGA of America has grown into the world’s largest working sports organization with more than 28,000 Members and Apprentices.
