ORLANDO, Fla., (June 16, 2010) -Golfweek magazine announced today that it has added a new West Coast Junior Invitational to its second annual Golfweek’s Junior Series, which offers junior golfers from across the country the chance to compete against their peers in Golfweek-ranked events. The West Coast final will be held Jan. 16-17 at Troon North in Scottsdale, Ariz. following November’s East Coast final in Orlando, Fla.
“Adding the West Coast Junior Invitational really takes Golfweek’s Junior Series to a whole new level,” said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek’s director of events. “Our goal was to create a unique opportunity for golf’s up-and-coming stars to gain valuable tournament experience and national media exposure on the junior circuit, and this additional tournament makes the series much more accessible for these young athletes.”
Recommended for players with a handicap of eight or less, Golfweek’s Junior Series is open to golfers ages 18 and under and offers a total of five competitive events. Upcoming events for Golfweek’s Junior Series are as follows:
