IRVINE, CA – JUNE 18, 2010 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized as a worldwide leader in wedge design and a known favorite amongst top touring golf professionals, announced today that another victory was captured using FOURTEEN GOLF equipment at the Teva Championship presented by Time Warner Cable.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda “This is truly remarkable. Two weeks and two wins! This young professional just celebrated her first victory on the Futures Tour at the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge where she posted an incredible five-under and this past weekend at the Teva Championship she shot an unbelievable fifteen-under, four shots ahead of second place and set a course record by three strokes. Her confidence is emerging and her skills are helping her succeed.”
This burgeoning professional plays the FOURTEEN GOLF JC-909 Driver, TC-550 Forged Irons and the new MT-28 V5 wedges in a 52, 56, and 58-degree loft with the NS Pro 950 shafts.
The MT-28 V5 wedge features a classically design head which features its signature FOURTEEN “reverse taper design” but has been improved by adding a groove strategically located in between the club sole and blade portion of the wedge. This structural change allowed the engineers to move the CG to a higher more stabilizing position for more precise shots.
In preparation for the new groove policy on the professional tours such as the PGA and LPGA, the company spent years engineering a new head and groove combination for the MT-28 V5 that would be in compliance with the USGA’s requirements and yet maintained the ultimate spin rate. The company not only met that objective but exceeded their expectations.
For exceptional spin and control, the entirely new unique trapezoidal shaped groove works in unison with the MT-28 V5 highly engineered head. In fact, this combination was tested in a variety of conditions and it outperformed the MT-28 V4 in wet soggy conditions and maintained the same spin rate in dry conditions. The trapezoidal groove also undergoes a mirror-face milling process which precisely and carefully mills each groove for optimal spin.
“She plays her wedges like a finely tuned instrument. They set her up consistently for birdies. On the Sunday, she carded four. In addition to her trio of wedges, she relies on the new FOURTEEN GOLF TC-550 Forged Irons,” added Kamoda.
The new easy to hit FOURTEEN GOLF’s TC-550 Forged Irons are traditionally styled cavity back irons which provide the workability of a forged iron with the playability of a game improvement iron. They possess the lowest CG allowed by the USGA, which provides the ultimate trajectory with an ideal spin rate.
Including this victory at the Teva Championship, FOURTEEN GOLF has celebrated six professional tour victories during the 2010 golf season; The South Georgia Classic on the Nationwide Tour, The Maybank Malaysian from the European Tour, the Carolina Series on the Hooters Tour, the Cyber Agent Cup on the LPGA and Ladies Titan Tire Challenge on the Duramed Futures Tour.
