Pelham, New York native battles wind, rain to card first victory on Duramed Futures Tour
(POUND RIDGE, N.Y.) – Playing out of Pound Ridge Golf Club – the nationally-ranked, Pete Dye-designed destination course 40 miles north of New York City – Nannette Hill won for the first time on the Duramed FUTURES Tour at the City of Hammond Classic in Hammond, Indiana.
Hill took home a champion’s check of $15,400 on Sunday, outlasting the rest of the field in gusting winds for a two-shot victory. She posted rounds of 70-68-71 for a 7-under total of 209 at Lost Marsh Golf Course, at the fifth annual event presented by Horseshoe Casino Hammond.
“Nannette is one of the most competitive golfers to come out of this area, and that she battled the elements to earn her first victory is a testament to that spirit,” says Pound Ridge Golf Club owner Ken Wang. “We congratulate her on this outstanding achievement and wish her continued success in all her endeavors.”
“Pound Ridge is a challenging, fair test of golf and demands that golfers execute a wide array of shots from tee through green,” says Hill. “I look forward to continued professional success and to representing Pound Ridge Golf Club on the Duramed FUTURES Tour.”
The Pelham New York native and Wake Forest All-American entered a promotional partnership with Pound Ridge Golf Club for 14 events of the 2010 season. Hill wears the Pound Ridge Golf Club logo on her hat, shirt, golf bag and umbrella while competing on tour. She joined the Duramed FUTURES tour in January, 2010.
With her win, Hill jumped from 50th on the Duramed FUTURES Tour’s money list to No. 14. A decorated amateur player, Hill was second team All-American at Wake Forest University where she recorded 16 top-10 finishes, including one win. She was named All-Atlantic Coast Conference multiple times and set a number of scoring marks during her Demon Deacon career. Hill was a three-time New York State Junior Champion and competed in seven U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships as well as the 2005 East Canon Cup.

About Pound Ridge Golf Club
Opened in 2008, Pound Ridge Golf Club is the only course in New York designed by the legendary Pete Dye. Located in Westchester County, it is less than an hour north of New York City and less than 15 minutes from Stamford and Greenwich, Connecticut. One of the only high-end, public courses in the area, Pound Ridge Golf Club is a full bentgrass facility.
Crafted by Dye, his son Perry and long-time Dye construction manager/lead shaper Michael Langkau, Pound Ridge Golf Club is hewn from 172 acres of magnificent cliffs, streams and wooded hills. Dramatic rock formations and boulders were left onsite, creating one of the most visually stunning settings for golf in the U.S. More than 14,000-linear-feet of rock wall surrounds trees, wetlands and water hazards. These frame contoured fairways which wind through hardwood forests and fescue mounds leading to open meadows with picturesque green complexes.
Pound Ridge Golf Club plays to a par-72 and houses five sets of tees and measures 7,171 yards. It boasts a practice range, short game area and putting green. The property features some of the highest points in Westchester County, with a number of tee boxes offering expansive vistas of the surrounding country. Notable holes include the par-5, 13th – home to “Pete’s Rock,” a giant boulder that rests in the middle of the fairway – and the par-3 15th – dubbed “Headstone” – which is flanked on the right by a large rock outcropping that protrudes into the elongated, 9,000-square-foot putting surface.
