Golfer’s Guide is pleased to announce esteemed teaching professional Andrew Rice will be contributing various instruction articles, tips and advice designed to help improve your game.
Rice’s articles will appear in the publication’s bi-weekly Player’s Club Newsletter and will be featured on the GolfersGuide.com instruction section.
“I’m delighted to come aboard and am looking forward to shaving some strokes off the games of the readers.” Rice said
Rice is currently the director of instruction at the prestigious Berkeley Hall Golf Club in Bluffton, SC and authored the recently published golf instruction manual entitled It’s All About Impact.
Born and raised in South Africa, Rice left his home country to attend the University of Central Florida, where he would go on to become an NCAA All-American golfer and an Academic All-American student.
After a brief playing career that included stints on the Sunshine and Nationwide Tours, Rice began teaching at the highly regarded David Ledbetter Golf Academy in Florida, home to burgeoning young talents Michelle Wie, Charles Howell III, Paula Creamer, Ty Tyron and Sean O’Hair.
Having taught five USGA Champions, multiple Walter cup participants, major winners and professionals from the PGA, European, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours, Rice knows what it takes to not only be the best, but how to make the most of your ability.
“From all my years in the game I have learned one very simple truth,” Rice said when speaking about his philosophy “that the way one swings the golf club is irrelevant. Every golfer is inherently different, and all instructors should not discourage that. Rather we should seek to exploit those individual abilities by placing them within in a framework of sound fundamentals. It’s isn’t about making a ‘swing’, it’s all about impact.”
