HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – July 1, 2010 – Srixon® Sports, a world leader in golf club and golf ball technology, congratulates Srixon® staffers Mike Small and Sonny Skinner for their 1-2 finish at the PGA Professional National Championship. Both Small and Skinner play Srixon® Z-STAR™ golf balls. Small birdied three of his last five holes to win his second straight PGA professional championship on Wednesday, holding off fellow Srixon® staffer Sonny Skinner by three strokes.
Small, the University of Illinois men’s coach, closed with a 1-over 73 in his final round at French Lick Resort to finish 8-under and win his third overall PGA national title.
Skinner, the PGA teaching pro at River Pointe Golf Club in Albany, Ga., finished with a 71 and was tied with Small until the 215-yard 16th hole. Skinner bogeyed the par-3, while Small nearly aced it to set up a birdie and drop Skinner two strokes back.
