(TORONTO, ON) – Quagmire – the Toronto-based apparel brand founded by two buddies with a passion for golf, surf, skate and street culture – had a stellar day at the 1st Annual Joe Carter & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament, providing a range of gear to top-name sports and entertainment celebs on hand June 23 at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON.
Always keen to keep a good buzz going, company founders Geoff Tait and Bobby Pasternak – who recently received feature treatment in the Calgary Herald – made certain everyone stayed cool and looked fresh in shirts and lids from the Spring 2010 collection.
That meant rocking the fairways with guys like Carter, Charles Barkley, Kenny Lofton, Jonathan Ogden, Devon White, Ray Bourque and Claude Lemieux, as well as ladies like the flavorful Trish Stratus(!).
“Regardless of how late I was out the night before, it was easy to get up for this event,” says Tait. “I lost my mind when Carter went yard back in the ’93 World Series. Now he’s supporting a great cause like the Children’s Aid Foundation. The guy is just awesome.”
“Kelly Gruber, Devon White, these guys were my heros growing up in Toronto and getting to play with them was amazing. The bonus of seeing Barkley swing wasn’t bad either!” adds Pasternak.
This event only accelerated the tsunami of famous folks embracing Quagmire, which is adored by celebs and Tour pros worldwide. Retailing from $65 for some tops to $79 for select outwear, the latest looks continue to embody the brand’s “Not Fit for the Fairway” motto. Check out www.quagmiregolf.com.
