Marriott Golf Names Andy Ragsdale Of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando Grande Lakes, As Golf Grounds Manager Of The Year

ORLANDO, Fla. – July 8, 2010…Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, recently announced that Andy Ragsdale, Golf Course Superintendent at The Ritz Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes was named Golf Grounds Manager of the Year. The award is based on performance excellence for current and previous years in various categories, including maintaining turfgrass conditions, successful large scale renovation or construction projects, loss prevention efforts, personnel development, operating within budget, active pursuit of industry-wide certifications and education, and more.

Under Ragsdale’s direction, The Ritz Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes, earned certification through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program which enables golf facilities to protect the environment by enhancing precious natural areas and wildlife habitats. This program is part of a systemwide commitment by Marriott International, Inc. (MAR:NYSE) to promote environmental stewardship.

In addition to his commitment to protecting and preserving the environment, Ragsdale is also a true community leader, having contributed to several community relations programs, including Feed The Homeless and Habitat for Humanity.
