TEMPE, Ariz. (July 14, 2010) – DnA Golf CEO Howard Lindsay announced today that the R&A, the organizers of The Open Championship and the governing body of the Rules of Golf for more than 126 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and South America, has ruled that DnA Golf’s new detachable-face driver conforms with the Rules of Golf.
This announcement comes only three months after DnA Golf was informed that its unique driver officially conforms with USGA rules, the governing body of golf for the U.S.A. and Mexico.
“This is fantastic news; we are excited about this ruling from the R&A, especially on the eve of the Open Championship which is celebrating its 150-year anniversary this week at St. Andrews,” Lindsay said. “Our DnA Technology is a radical new innovation and to receive positive rulings from the R&A and USGA is a great accomplishment and great stepping stone for our future.”
The Alpha 610 is a high-performance driver that is unique to the golf industry. It features a patented detachable-face technology with an elastomeric face insert that allows golfers to tune their driver for optimal distance (based on swing speed), and for desired acoustic levels (based on their subjective preference). Golfers view these two criteria as critical to driver performance.
Each DnA driver also includes a custom logo that is tastefully integrated into the crown of the club. Examples of the available logo categories include the military, NBA teams, and corporate logos.
The detachable-face “DnA Technology” allows the creation of drivers with customizable Distance & Acoustics (DnA), with a level of customization (distance, acoustics and co-branding) that has never been available before in a driver – therefore each DnA driver carries its own unique DNA.
The Alpha 610 Driver is available through DnA’s website (www.dnagolf.com) or by calling 480.240.6004. To learn more about DnA Golf and the technology behind the Alpha 610 Driver check out the videos at www.youtube.com/dnaGOLFinc.
ABOUT DNA GOLF:
Based in Tempe, Ariz., DnA Golf, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of VyaTek Sports (www.vyatek.com), a company that for more than 10-years has been designing high-end sports equipment for leading brands such as Wilson, Louisville Slugger and Rawlings.
DnA Golf, Inc. was formed in August 2009, but the concept for the first DnA Golf driver began in 2002 when BMW asked VyaTek Sports if they could develop a golf driver worthy of their “Ultimate Driving Machine” tagline. This effort culminated in the creation of a radical new driver that was highly tunable and had the look, feel, sound and performance of a well-made German car.
The detachable-face technology, branded “DnA TechnologyTM”, offers a level of customization never before seen in a golf driver. The level of customization (for distance, acoustics and co-branding) allows each driver to carry a unique “DNA”, made possible by the infinite combination of detachable faces, elastomeric face-inserts, distinct acoustic signatures and co-branded product options.
DnA Golf utilizes a unique distribution strategy, partnering with select corporate brands, sports teams, military branches/facilities, charities and green grass golf facilities. With more than 30 percent of rounds played attributed to “business”, golf is an attractive area to build brand loyalty and awareness.
