Featuring two award-winning courses located in the heart of Napa Valley
Scottsdale, Ariz. (July 19, 2010) – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage golf operations at Silverado Country Club & Resort in Napa, Calif.
Silverado is a historic 1,200-acre destination resort located in the heart of Napa Valley, just 50 miles northeast of San Francisco and within minutes of more than 200 wineries. A California landmark built in the 1870s, the Silverado Mansion is the cornerstone of the property, offering accommodations, restaurants, a full-service spa and a myriad of resort activities.
Silverado Country Club & Resort is an exceptional property located in a very unique and truly desirable destination,” stated John Easterbrook, executive vice president of operations, Troon Golf. “We are eager to contribute to the resort’s success and provide an exceptional experience for members and resort guests.”
Silverado’s two 18-hole golf courses were designed by renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Spanning across 360 acres, each layout offers numerous water features, elevation changes and routing through oaks, pines and redwood trees. The 6,685-yard South Course challenges golfers with side-hill lies and more than a dozen water crossings, while the North Course stretches 6,900 yards but is occasionally more forgiving. Both the North and South courses have hosted events for the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour and are the recipients of awards from Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
Dolce Hotels and Resorts, operator of 26 upscale hotels, resorts and conference hotels in North America and Europe, was appointed to manage the resort by the property’s new owner, Silverado Resort Investment Group LLC. Dolce proposes to “polish the silver in Silverado” by bringing its food-and-beverage expertise to the resort, upgrading its function space and establishing an enhanced service culture, all to attract corporate, association and government clients as well as create an unforgettable experience for leisure visitors to Napa Valley.
The new owners, led by Johnny Miller, World Golf Hall of Fame member and lead golf analyst for NBC Sports, envision repositioning the resort and its two golf courses as upper-upscale facilities. A golf school to be named the Johnny Miller Golf Academy will also be established in conjunction with their dream of creating “a new iconic golf experience.”
Accommodations at Silverado are found in private cottage suites clustered around hidden courtyards, secluded swimming pools or lining the fairways. Each of the resort’s cottage suites has its own unique décor, balcony or patio and private entrance. The resort also features 10 swimming pools, 17 tennis courts, bocce ball courts, as well as hiking and biking trails.
