The 5th Annual Education Conference and clubfitters and clubmakers convention will be held in the Historic Columbus Iron Works Trade and Convention Center in Columbus, Georgia with a Demo Day at Woodland Hills, Golf Course on Wednesday September 29, before the convention on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With virtually all of the sponsors from 2009 committed to return and the expectation of at least 10 additional sponsors who have contacted us and committed to be at the Roundtable, and with more than as many advanced registrations as last year the AGCP expects a much bigger turn out than any previous year.
The Featured speaker this year will be Tom Wishon, whose company Tom Wishon Golf Technology is recognized as the highest quality designer of high performance original clubheads, shafts, grips and fitting technology products used by independent professional custom clubmakers around the world, and guest speaker AGCP members Eric Hogge, the head professional of the PGA Center for Learning and Education in Port St. Lucie FL and Jimmy Sharpe, All America football player at the University of Alabama and former Head Football Coach at Virginia Tech as our dinner speaker this year, The AGCP expects a much larger turn out for this year’s event.
This year’s event features a new format of alternating Industry Experts, like Henri Johnson of FlightScope, as speakers on the Main Floor of the exhibit hall and class rooms with AGCP Masters teaching a variety of classes during alternating hours each day. For the first time this year the PGA is awarding MSR credits to their members for attending the AGCP classes. Other industry speakers lined up include Jeff Lucas, shaft designer – Aldila Golf, Charlie Blume, owner – SK Fiber shafts, Kate Whitney, President – SwingRite, Inc, swing training devices, and others yet to be determined.
