Louis Oosthuizen captures Open Championship relying upon Titleist Pro V1x.
Fairhaven, MA (July 19, 2010) – To win on golf’s grandest stage takes a world of talent, a complete performance and total trust in your game and in your golf ball. At this year’s Open Championship, Louis Oosthuizen earned his first career major title trusting the Titleist Pro V1x on every shot, finishing seven strokes clear of his nearest competitor and a world-class field at the Home of Golf, St. Andrews, Scotland.
Oosthuizen closed with a 1-under par 71 en route to a 16-under 272 total in a victory so convincing that he took the lead midway through the second round and led by three or more shots throughout the final round. The Pro V1x golf ball withstood the elements, as Oosthuizen made only two bogeys over the final 35 holes in a strong wind that swept across the Old Course.
The victory is the fifth of Oosthuizen’s career, and advances him from No. 54 to No. 15 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
