(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – Tyler Ferrell has joined Innovative Sports Ventures as its newest team member and will serve the role of Director of Golf Diagnostics. “To add Tyler to our team is a very exciting time for ISV” says Dr. Mindy Clark, a Partner & Executive Director of Golf Medicine. “His depth of knowledge of the game of golf and his in-depth training in Biomechanics is far superior to many of his peers.”
Ferrell was selected to be one of the original diagnosticians at Clubgolf, the first golf performance center in the United States, under Dr. Greg Rose, who later cofounded the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Over the last few years he has achieved certifications in more than ninety percent of the courses offered by TPI and participated in every World Golf Fitness Summit. In 2008, he was highlighted in an article in Golf Magazine titled, “The Quest for 300” about the reporter, Josh Sens, traveling around the country in search of a way to get 30 more yards out of his drives. As the article concludes, the day following an evaluation from Tyler, he reached his goal. Using momentum from that article, Tyler helped create a seminar called “The Power Swing Clinic” where he educated average golfers about the true keys to distance. “I am on a mission to create every advantage for those that love the game of golf and other sports as well,” says Tyler. “I am thrilled to join the team at ISV. They are the first firm that I have found that truly understands where the game of golf is headed and has created a platform in which we can continue to explore the exciting time of integrating technology in to one of the oldest games in history.”
Ferrell was fortunate to not only be involved in the first golf performance facility in the United States, but also in Asia. A private Korean investment group retained Tyler to help establish Links Fitness Korea in Seoul, which eventually became Golf Performance Korea. He was part of the core team that created the operational plan, designed the menu of services, analyzed Korean Tour golfers, and trained staff how to effectively design and execute personalized golf performance programs based upon diagnostic 3D motion and data capture, physical screens, nutrition, fitness, and instruction.
Tyler also possesses a presence on the Internet as one of the cofounders of Golf Fitness Guys. Golf Fitness Guys is a regularly updated blog that presents holistic information as it pertains to golfers. Tyler holds the following TPI certifications: Level 3 Fitness Professional, Level 3 Medical Professional, Level 2 Golf Professional, Level 2 Golf Biomechanics, and Level 3 Junior Professional; additionally he holds the C.H.E.K Level 2 certification.
