(JUPITER, FL) – Buffalo Communications (Buffalo) has been appointed communications agency by the National Golf Foundation (NGF) to promote the recently-launched American Golf Census aimed at counting the country’s estimated 27 million golfers.
To raise awareness about the Census, Buffalo will create an implement a publicity program, engineer partnerships with regional golf media and trade shows, and develop promotional materials.
Produced by the NGF – the industry-leading provider of information and insights into the business of golf – valuable data from the Census will improve the industry’s marketing and promotional capabilities. This will increase the acquisition and engagement of golfers to stimulate rounds played, and equipment and incremental sales locally.
In addition, the Census will allow policymakers to better understand how golf enhances the lives of millions of Americans across various demographics.
The Census presents a unique opportunity to support the game. For participating in the Census, every golfer is automatically entered into a sweepstakes – the largest in the history of golf – to win more than $100,000 in prizes. They include equipment from Callaway, Nike Golf and TaylorMade, dream vacations to Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Scotland and Ireland, and golf instruction at the ANNIKA Academy in Orlando, Florida.
“It takes less than two minutes to take the American Golf Census and help preserve golf’s future,” says Dr. Joseph Beditz, President & CEO of the NGF. “Buffalo Communications will spread this gospel to its deep network of industry contacts.”
“The Census is a ground-breaking campaign with the largest-ever sweepstakes in golf,” says Rich Katz, Managing Director of Buffalo. “With information about golfers, businesses can develop innovative products and programs to offset attrition and grow the game.”
The Census is being promoted through print advertising, e-marketing, direct mail, posters and websites, including www.americangolfcensus.com.
Golf courses and other golf-related businesses promoting the Census with links on their websites will build their own, qualified golfer databases. The NGF will provide complete information on all Census registrants originating from their websites.
