Abacus sponsored The 2009 European Solheim Cup team in Chicago. “My strongest memory was the atmosphere from the first tee. Most important was to see how pleased all the players were with their outfits and the good response Abacus got from the American spectators,” says Sven-Olof.
International visit
The contract for continued cooperation between Abacus and The European Solheim Cup team has been agreed on. In brief it means that Abacus will dress the players, their caddies, members of the board, the players’ guests and the team’s dignitaries during the competition week at Killeen Castle Golf Club in Ireland, September 2011.
The captain Alison Nicholas and the vice captain Joanne Morley for the European team, visited Abacus in Dalby in June this year, together with two directors from the Ladies European Tour. The reason for the visit was to sign the contract with abacus, go over the experiences from previous years and to prepare for the new collection.

The Solheim Cup is a team golf competition, the women’s equivalent to the men’s Ryder Cup. Every other year, the USA competes against a combined European team in foursomes, best ball, and single matches over the course of three days.
