(AURORA, IL) – Orchard Valley Golf Course – managed by Billy Casper Golf – is ranked the sixth best public-access course in Illinois by GOLF Magazine in its September issue.
Orchard Valley bested 496 other Illinois daily-fee courses to achieve the distinction. This marks the third time GOLF Magazine – one of the nation’s most widely circulated golf publications – has ranked the best courses in each state. The magazine’s rankings panel included editorial staff and well-traveled golf industry sources. Orchard Valley is among elite company on the state list with Cog Hill, TPC Deere Run and The Glen Club.
“This is a wonderful honor for Orchard Valley to be included on this list by such an influential publication,” says Brad Kale, General Manager of Orchard Valley. “Our staff works tirelessly to ensure we create memorable golf and social experiences for everyone who visits our course.”
Orchard Valley – one of Chicagoland’s best public courses and rated 4.5 stars (out of five) by Golf Digest – features a beautiful 18-hole, 6,800-yard, par-72 championship layout with a blend of natural challenges to include meandering wetlands, lakes, challenging rough, numerous bunkers and hollows.
The practice area offers a full-service driving range with both bent-grass and artificial hitting surfaces. Target greens – at strategically-placed distances for practicing different shot types – keeps golfers sharp between rounds and a practice bunker helps perfect the sand game.
Orchards – the full-service restaurant – features a wide-range of classic American dishes and is open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner and carry-out service. Orchard Valley Bar & Grill is open daily, in season, for golfers to enjoy a casual meal overlooking the No. 18 hole. Both dining options are open to the public.
