Company’s Stable of Cleats Dominate Across All Professional Tours, Highlighted by Wins at the European Tour’s Czech Open & the Champion’s Tour’s JELD-WEN Tradition
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., August 23, 2010 … Softspikes®, the world’s best-selling golf cleat brand, captured weekend victories in the U.S. and abroad, as the winners of the European Tour’s Czech Open and the Champion’s Tour’s JELD-WEN Tradition donned the #1 Cleat on TOUR. The Champion’s Tour win for Softspikes marked the brand’s 59th career Major championship.
Additionally, at the Champion’s Tour’s JELD-WEN Tradition, 7 of the top 10 finishers wore Softspikes, while 2 of the top 6 wore BLACK WIDOW® TOUR™, golf’s first adjustable cleat, which also earned a top 3 finish at the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship. Further complementing Softspikes’ weekend success on Tour, the runner-up, and 11 of 15 players that finished in the top 12 at the LPGA Safeway Classic Presented by Coca-Cola, wore Softspikes.
“We had a terrific weekend by capturing victories in the U.S. and abroad,” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “Our cleat models were dominant across all professional tours, and it’s always great to transcend our success into Europe.”
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
