Golf Magazine Names Course 1st in Ohio, 56th in U.S.
(Nashport, Ohio) – Longaberger Golf Club was the only course in Ohio to be named to the country’s Top 100 You Can Play list, GOLF Magazine announced this week. The Arthur Hills-designed public course also claimed the top spot in the Buckeye State as Best Public Golf Course in Ohio in individual state rankings.
The par 72, 7,243-yard layout climbed one spot to 56th in the country on the magazine’s biennial list. It is the fifth time Longaberger has appeared in the national rankings – a list it entered in its first year of eligibility in 2000.
In addition, Longaberger was selected as an editors’ pick for “Best Value/Worth Your Money,” a short list of only five Top 100 courses in the U.S. that offer golfer-friendly rates under $100. Longaberger recently released special rates for a round and discounts on food and beverage on select dates through the rest of the season.
The complete listing is on golf.com and will be printed in the magazine’s September 2010 edition.
“We’re firm believers in providing an exceptional golf experience that makes you want to play the course again and again,” said Director of Golf Danny Ackerman. “We love the national recognition, but we are especially proud that the course remains affordable and accessible to all golfers.”
Longaberger Golf Club, owned by The Longaberger Company and managed by Billy Casper Golf, opened in 1999 and has numerous accolades to its credit, including Golfweek’s 2010 Best Courses You Can Play list; Golfstyles Must-Play Courses in Ohio 2010 list, and Golfworld’s Top 10 Public Access Courses on its Reader’s Choice List.
The parkland-style course is located about 50 miles east of Columbus, Ohio. It offers public fee and stay and play rates, as well as a popular value-based Resident Card program and memberships through its March-November golf season.
