Son of Centennial Presidents Club member awarded $500 scholarship
MEDFORD, Oregon- Centennial Golf Club recently awarded Christopher J. Clark with a $500 Centennial/OB Sports Scholarship. The scholarship is one of many value-added benefits of the Centennial’s frequent player programs (which include the Presidents Club and the Centennial Card). Both of these annual frequent-player programs offer preferred golf benefits at Centennial Golf Club and neighboring Quail Point Golf Course (along with a number of other value added benefits). The scholarship is available to the cardholder’s/club members college-bound dependents or grandchildren. They simply submit an application, letters of recommendation and any other pertinent information, and Centennial scholarship committee awards the scholarship to one student based on the merits of his/her high school achievements. OB Sports Golf Management (the management company overseeing operations at Centennial and Quail Point) established the scholarship program in 2008 at a number of golf clubs under its management, Centennial being one of them.
“We are pleased to provide yet another value added benefit for our popular Centennial Card and most importantly are extremely proud to award Christopher with the Centennial/OB Sports Cardholder scholarship,” stated Vince Domenzain, General Manager for Centennial Golf Club. “While we wish it was more, we hope that he can put it to good use to offset at least some of his upcoming college expenses”.
Christopher Clark, the son of Presidents Club member, James L. Clark, recently graduated from St Mary’s High School in Medford with a GPA of 3.91. He was a four year varsity football scholar athlete and was also a college board AP Scholar for 2009. Clark was also awarded the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools Membership Award and he received a national certificate of merit for the national Latin exam. Clark balanced his academic and athletic commitments in away that still allowed him to volunteer in the community serving over 145 hours of community service for the local animal shelter and the Open Hands, Open Hearts charities. Clark is headed to Santa Clara University in California this Fall.
“I truly appreciate Centennial Golf Club awarding me their $500 scholarship,” said Clark. “My dad certainly loves playing Centennial and we were both very excited when I got the word that I was the scholarship recipient. It will certainly help defer some of my expenses as I head to Santa Clara.”
