Will Build Upon China Success in Matches at Celtic Manor Resort

(SHENZHEN, China) – Defending Omega Mission Hills World Cup champions – Italy’s Edoardo and Francesco Molinari – have been named to Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup team.

They will become the first brothers to play in the biennial matches since 1963. Francesco automatically qualified for the team via the points list; Edoardo will join him at Wales’ Celtic Manor Resort as one of Captain Colin Montgomerie’s three wild card picks.

“Edoardo and Francesco played four days of nearly flawless golf in winning last year’s World Cup,” says Tenniel Chu, Executive Director, Mission Hills China. “The teamwork they exhibited at our tournament will no doubt serve Captain Montgomerie and the European team very well at Celtic Manor.”

In November the Molinaris shot a final round four-under-par 68 on Mission Hills’ Olazabal Course to capture Italy’s first World Cup. Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlsson finished one shot back.

The World Cup will return to the international golf schedule November 24-27, 2011. Tournament format (two days of foursomes, two days of four-ball) remains unchanged, but it will now be held every odd year at the new Mission Hills Haikou on tropical Hainan Island.

Located only 15 minutes from Haikou Meilan International Airport, the resort features volcanic-themed golf courses (all by Schmidt-Curley Design), 518 tastefully-appointed guest rooms and suites, 12 world-class restaurants, Hainan’s only aquatic theme park, therapeutic natural mineral springs, a spa oasis and more.

In 2007, Mission Hills secured an unprecedented agreement with the International PGA Tours to host 12 consecutive editions of the World Cup.
