Grand prize trip to Hawaii for the Sony Open in January 2011
ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 30, 2010) – With excitement heating up on the Nationwide Tour and players jockeying to finish in THE 25 on the money list to earn their PGA TOUR cards, Golf Channel announced today the launch of the Nationwide Tour Fantasy Challenge online consumer promotion – www.GolfChannel.com/nationwidetourfantasy.
Following a classic “Survivor” fantasy format, the Nationwide Tour Fantasy Challenge will allow players to choose a different Nationwide Tour professional each week from THE 25. Players will earn the equivalent number of points based on the professional’s earnings for the week. The fantasy player who accumulates the highest number of points for the entire campaign will win a grand prize trip to Hawaii to attend the Sony Open in Hawaii in January, 2011, where many of THE 25 will make their first PGA TOUR starts of the season.
The Nationwide Tour Fantasy Challenge champion will receive flight, hotel and passes for two to the Sony Open in Hawaii, along with $500 spending cash. The grand prize also will include credentials for the Oceanside Skybox hospitality venue on-course for all four rounds of the tournament, autograph memorabilia, a meet and greet session with Nationwide Tour and PGA TOUR professional and a Cleveland Golf Launcher DST Driver among other prizes. The top-25 finishers at the end of the campaign also will receive prizes courtesy of Cleveland Golf or Golf Channel.
The nine-week fantasy challenge starts today with the Mylan Classic presented by CONSOL Energy and will end Sunday, Oct. 31 with the conclusion of the Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island. Weekly prizes also will be awarded throughout the duration of the promotion, courtesy of Golf Channel and the Nationwide Tour.
The Nationwide Tour Fantasy Challenge is open now for players to register and choose their fantasy golf pro partners at www.GolfChannel.com/nationwidetourfantasy.
