Following the USGA Rules of Golf, boys and girls ages six to nine play three, nine-hole rounds and ages nine to 14 play three, 18-hole rounds, the age cut-off being November 30, 2010. Entry fees are $295 and $345, respectively, and include three tournament rounds, a tee gift and awards. Practice rounds and cart fees are not included.

“Ka’anapali is excited to host the U.S. Kids Golf tournament at our storied courses,” says Ed Kageyama, PGA General Manager of Ka’anapali. “The kids participating will be left with unforgettable memories of competing on a course where legends like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Amy Alcott have played.”
Ka’anapali is hosting one of five Regional Championships that serve as a qualifier for the 2011 U.S. Kids World Championship and Teen World Championship – drawing roughly 1,700 golfers (combined) from 35 countries and six continents – held in August 2011 at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
Players qualify through the local U.S. Kids Tour or enter a Qualifier Event to gain a priority invitation to regional events. Turtle Bay Golf Resort hosted the Hawaii Qualifier in June 2010, where 17 juniors qualified to play in the Hawaiian Classic.
Several properties at Ka’anapali Beach Resort will extend preferred lodging rates: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali Beach Hotel, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Royal Lahaina Resort and The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas. The Royal Lahaina Resort will host a Welcome Luau for the players and their caddies on Sunday, December 19th – families and friends are welcome to join for an additional cost.

The Royal Ka’anapali Course, a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design, opened in 1962 and has tested the skills of professional and amateur golfers. A par-71, 6,700-yard layout, the Royal Course combines wide fairways and undulating greens, making it distinctive, demanding and exciting, hole to hole. With more than 45 years of tournament history, the Royal Course has hosted many of golf’s greatest legends: Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Billy Casper and Jan Stephenson.
The Ka’anapali Kai Course – a par-70, 6,400-yard gem – places an emphasis on proper club selection and placement off the tee, allowing for a better approach shot into the large, bunker-protected greens.
The golf courses underwent a $13 million renovation in 2006-2007 and the Royal Course was given a 4.5-star rating (out of five) by Golf Digest in the magazine’s recent “Best Places to Play” guide. Ka’anapali was selected by The Golf Channel to host “Big Break Ka’anapali” that aired in 2008 and the Royal Course was ranked No. 11 “Best Tour Course You can Play” by Golfweek magazine in 2009.
