Stevens becomes two-time winner of prestigious event
Norcross, GA (September 8, 2010) — Divots Sportswear, the oldest private golf apparel company in the country, extends congratulations to tour ambassador Craig Stevens on his victory in the Georgia PGA Championship, held last week at the Sea Island Golf Club’s Retreat Course on St. Simons Island, GA.
Stevens, a PGA teaching professional from Steel Canyon Golf Club in Sandy Springs, GA, fired a one-over par final round of 73 for a winning total of eight under par 208. It was Stevens’ second victory in the venerable championship that has been contested since 1962. He previously won the Georgia PGA in 2001.
Divots Sportswear President Robert Friedman said, “We’re honored to have Craig as part of the Divots family and are so happy for his success at the Georgia PGA Championship. We wish him all the best for his competitive pursuits moving into 2011.”
An accomplished player for decades, Stevens has participated in 12 PGA TOUR events, won 14 Georgia PGA major tournaments, played in two U.S. PGA Championships and was recognized as Georgia PGA Player of the Year in both 1999 and 2001.
Stevens has worn Divots apparel in national competition for over 10 years.
