September 7, 2010; Phoenix, Arizona: PING pro Miguel Angel Jimenez’s victory at the Omega European Masters with the new Scottsdale Pickemup putter marks the third time this summer the 46-year-old was the first player to win with a new PING product.

In late June, Jimenez was the first to win with the new S56 irons and new Tour-S wedges when he captured the Alstom Open de France. It was his first event with the new blade-style irons. The new specialty wedges were added to his bag the week before at the U.S. Open. He also switched to the award-winning G15 driver in France.

“I have great trust in the PING team to provide me the best product in the world,” said Jimenez, who won for the 18th time on the European Tour. “I’m honored to be the first to win with three new products but I know there will be many more victories for the PING staff around the world.”

Jimenez, a three-time winner this season, changed to the Scottsdale Pickemup last week at the Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland. His tie for third place there helped secure his fourth Ryder Cup appearance.

At the Omega European Masters in Switzerland, a course-record 61 in the second round gave Jimenez a lead he wouldn’t relinquish. He finished the four rounds 21-under-par, three shots clear of the runner-up. It was his third-straight top-10 finish and moved him to eighth place in the Race to Dubai standings.

“Miguel’s play this year has been phenomenal,” said John Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “Three wins and his fourth Ryder Cup appearance is an amazing season. To be the first to win with three different new products brings us even greater satisfaction.”

For the week, Jimenez played a G15 driver, TiSI Tec 3 and 5 woods, S56 irons (3-PW), Tour-S wedges (52 and 60 degrees) and a Scottsdale Pickemup putter.
