KOBE, JAPAN – September 7, 2010 – SRI Sports Limited, a world leader in golf club and golf ball technology, congratulates teenager Ryo Ishikawa for his victory at the 2010 Fujisankei Classic held at Yamanashi’s Fujizakura Country Club. Ishikawa, the defending champion, entered the final round with a three-stroke lead but finished in a two-way tie at 9-under 275. Ishikawa became the first back-to-back winner at the event on the fourth playoff hole, when he two-putted for par on the par-4 18th and his opponent’s putt lipped out for bogey.
“It was far more difficult than last year,” said Ishikawa. “I wanted to keep playing the playoff, so it was kind of weird for it to end.”
The victory, his eighth career title and second of the 2010 season, earned Ishikawa a winner’s prize of $270,000. Ishikawa plays the Srixon® Z-STAR™ XV golf ball and is currently in first place in the Japan Tour’s money rankings.
