(SHENZHEN, China) — The 7th Mission Hills Golfathon Grand Final will take place on Sunday, September 12 at the Mission Hills Shenzhen’s Olazabal Course.
The Mission Hills Golfathon started in May and ended on August 31. Close to 3,000 participants from 20 different countries competed this year, including players from China, Australia, France, Finland, Korea, Canada, Malaysia, United States, South Africa, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and India.
The 100 Finalists will be divided into a Men’s Senior Division, Men’s Division, Ladies’ Division and Juniors’ Division.
This year, Mission Hills is offering an especially attractive gift for the winner — the champion of the Golfathon Grand Final will be eligible to play at the Mission Hills Star Trophy Pro-Am at Mission Hills Resort Haikou — alongside stars like Greg Norman, Li Ning, Michael Phelps, Aaron Kwok and Catherine Zeta Jones.
The Mission Hills Star Trophy is the only event in the Asia-Pacific region that brings together international golf icons, Hollywood stars and global entertainment celebrities. The first edition of the Star Trophy will take place on October 28-31. The professionals will be competing for the US$1.28 million, the largest individual prize purse for golf in Asia Pacific.
The Golfathon Grand Final venue is designed by the renowned Spanish golfer Jose Maria Olazabal in collaboration with Schmidt-Curley Design (www.schmidt-curley.com). After three consecutive years as host of the OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup, the Olazabal course has gained recognition locally and overseas, attracting golfers from different regions to experience its challenges.
In addition to the prize for the Overall Champion, winners of the individual categories will be invited to participate in the next Omega Mission Hills World Cup Honorary Observer Program.
