Youth golf program continues to grow in the Midwest
Walworth, WI – TGA – Premier Junior Golf, one of the leading initiatives to grow the game of golf and the only national after-school enrichment junior golf program in the country, continues to grow and expand in the Midwest with its first franchise that covers two states, Wisconsin and Illinois. This new TGA territory, which covers Walworth County in Wisconsin and McHenry County in Illinois, is owned and operated by PGA professional Shawn Chisamore.
“It’s exciting to help grow the game in the Midwest with a top PGA member like Shawn. We are thrilled that he has decided to bring his professional knowledge and business experience to the TGA family of businesses,” said Joshua Jacobs, president and CEO of TGA – Premier Junior Golf. “Shawn will be a great asset in our efforts to make golf accessible and affordable by bringing it directly to the McHenry and Walworth area schools through our five-level education based programs.”
Chisamore, a native of Illinois, comes to TGA with over 15 years experience in the golf industry and brings extensive experience in teaching the game and working with youth. Chisamore is excited to bring his PGA background to TGA.
“As a PGA member, it is our mission to grow the game of golf and it must start with the youth of today,” said Chisamore. “Now as a business owner with TGA – Premier Junior Golf, I am very excited about a greater opportunity to teach kids the game of golf and the life lessons associated with it.”
Chisamore will be focusing his efforts on school systems in both McHenry and Walworth counties including public and private schools looking to enhance their after-school enrichment programs.
“I have always had a tremendous passion for teaching the golf swing and working with kids,” continued Chisamore. “I am looking forward to working with the area schools and parents, as well as teaching even more kids then I ever did in my previous professional career as a golf instructor.”
Jacobs is very optimistic about the growth in the Midwest and the potential for future growth in this market for TGA.
“The Midwest continues to have the highest concentration of golfers in the country and now TGA covers all of the Great Lakes states, which is having significant impact on growing the game and enriching the lives of students in this region of the country,” stated Jacobs. “TGA still has great opportunities for growth in the region for entrepreneurs, especially in and around the Chicago area, which will even impact the growth of the game even more.”
About TGA – Premier Junior Golf
TGA – Premier Junior Golf is one of the country’s most unique and fastest growing recreational programs for kids and is rapidly becoming a golden franchise opportunity for self starters who enjoy working with children in a business venture that provides a unique entry into youth sports, education, and the golf industry.
TGA is the only national after school program that teaches the fundamentals of the game of golf, its rules, etiquette, and life values, while promoting education for kindergarten students through the eighth grade.
Since its inception in six Los Angeles schools in the fall of 2003, the premier junior golf program is now offered nationwide in 2,300 schools reaching 110,000 students from Kindergarten to 8th grade in 22 states. TGA breaks down the traditional barriers of inconvenience and high cost when golf is brought to children directly through their schools.
The TGA enrichment curriculum, developed by PhDs in child and curriculum development, along with PGA and LPGA golf professionals, is a unique five-level program designed for kids to advance from one level to the next while building self-esteem as well as confidence in terms of education, life skills and character development. The steps also include teaching fundamental math, science, English, and history associated with the program.
TGA is also endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA). It is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on After School, a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness. TGA is also approved by the United States Golf Association USGA) under the Rules of Amateur Status.
