NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (September 10, 2010) – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine™, is adding an additional class due to the high demand for professional fitters who wish to be certified as “Master ClubFitters”. The three day program is being offered November 8-10, 2010 at the KZG Headquarters in North Hollywood, CA. The earlier November 3-5, 2010 class has been officially sold out.
“Experts in the industry agree that there are less than 500 qualified professional clubfitters in the entire world, a number totally inadequate to serve the golfing public,” reports Jennifer King, President of KZG. “Tens of thousands claim to be fitters but at best they are ‘guesstimators’. Because KZG only works with qualified fitters, we started the certification program to help expand our own market and help grow this very important profession.”
KZG’s Master ClubFitter Certification Program is a symposium for clubfitting professionals who aspire to practice their craft at the highest level. Over the course of three intensive days, students are immersed in the latest clubfitting techniques, while exchanging ideas with their professional peers. Topics include fitting variables, manufacturing, head and shaft design and characteristics, the fitting steps, frequency matching, shaft alignment, selling techniques, marketing for fitters, launch monitor analysis and an overview of club building. Enrollment for each class is limited to maximize student-teacher interaction and to promote class cohesiveness. PGA professionals receive 12 MSR credits.
This program is part of KZG’s effort to advance the practice of true comprehensive custom fitting for golfers worldwide. Participation in the program is only open to those who already have experience as a fitter, who are currently working in a legitimate golf retail facility or are a PGA or USGTF professional. Each course provides attendees not only a plethora of new skills but also a new set of colleagues.
Don Irving, owner of Artisan Golf Co. in Ontario, Canada, will be the lead instructor. Don is a certified “Master ClubFitter”, the current president of the International Professional Association of ClubFitters (IPAC), rated a “World’s Top 100 ClubFitter” (2005-2010) and is a KZG “Design Consultant”. Additional speakers include KZG staff: David Kierstead, Head Fitter; Matt Mora, Head Builder (formerly with the Cleveland tour van); Chris Lesser, Director of Marketing; and Jennifer King, Owner/President.
Since 2005, over 210 professionals have graduated from KZG’s Master ClubFitter Certification Program and have earned their degree as a “Master ClubFitter”. Many have gone on to qualify as an IPAC Member and open their own performance centers, retail shops and tour vans.
