Golf businesses herald as indispensible database development tool
(JUPITER, FL) – The National Golf Foundation (NGF) — the industry-leading provider of information and insights into the business of golf — announces industry insiders are praising the American Golf Census as an indispensible tool to develop their golf consumer databases.
Hundreds of courses and other golf-related businesses have posted links on their websites to promote the Census (www.americangolfcensus.com). In return, these partners build their own, qualified golfer databases by gaining access to contact information of all individuals who register via their site. Moreover, for each person who signs up, the Census partner will receive data about an additional, ardent golf consumer.
“The American Golf Census Sweepstakes provides a unique and easy-to-implement platform to capture demographics of website visitors who would otherwise remain anonymous,” says Dr. Joseph Beditz, President & CEO of the NGF. “Our partners provide a value-added service for their loyal clients by giving them a chance to win phenomenal prizes. At the same time, they’re gathering crucial information for use in future targeted marketing and promotional endeavors.”
To entice Census participation, more than $100,000 in prizes — the largest in the history of golf — are up for grabs. They include equipment from Callaway, Nike Golf and TaylorMade; dream vacations to Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Scotland and Ireland; a tournament weekend in Augusta, GA; and golf instruction at the ANNIKA Academy in Orlando, FL.
“We found the one-for-one match feature especially alluring,” says Dick Fitzgerald, Project Director for Seaside Resort Development, owner / operator of California’s Bayonet and Black Horse golf courses. “Since placing the Census link on our homepage, we’ve significantly expanded our consumer list and measured an increase in rounds played directly attributable to our e-marketing blasts.”
“Data from the Census has helped us to drill down specifically who is visiting our homepage, how avidly they play and more,” says Vic Williams, Executive Editor of Fairways + Greens Magazine. “This information will prove invaluable to fine-tuning our 2011 editorial and advertising plans.”
The Census presents golfers with a unique opportunity to support the game. Information obtained from the Census will allow policymakers to better understand and, in turn, further enhance golf’s impact on the lives of millions of Americans.
