the pants comes alive when the Rays pair “Pants” Rowland with LoudMouth pants
SONOMA, CA – (Sept. 16, 2010) – LoudMouth Golf is gearing up for the pennant race by outfitting the Tampa Bay Rays with their colorful and always original pants for the Rays’ upcoming themed road trip to New York on Sunday, Sept. 19.
The LoudMouth Pants Rowland trip, named in honor of former Chicago White Sox manager Clarence Henry “Pants” Rowland, will take the Rays to their series against the New York Yankees. Each member of the Rays’ traveling party will wear LoudMouth patterns on the road trip.
The concept for the road trip was organized by Rays’ manager Joe Maddon, who has been an admirer of Pants Rowland since discovering that he is the only manager in baseball history to have his team be no-hit twice during the regular season and then go on to win a World Series title with the 1917 Chicago White Sox.
“We are combining a tribute to him, along with LoudMouth pants,” said Maddon. “It is just natural to call it the LoudMouth Pants Rowland road trip, so it works perfectly.”
LoudMouth will provide their bold style to the entire traveling party: players, coaches, trainers, broadcasters and front office staff, making this the team’s flashiest trip ever.
“I think everyone is going to have fun with them,” pitcher Lance Cormier said in reaction to the pants.
Some of the patterns that were selected by coaches and players were Bushwood, Oakmont Houndstooth, Disco Balls Black and Big Buzz.
The Rays are not the first sports team LoudMouth has outfitted this year. Earlier this year at the Vancouver Winter Olympics the Norwegian Curling Team selected LoudMouth pants for their team uniform.
“I was thrilled to find out that the Rays will be wearing our pants on their biggest road trip of the season to take on the Yankees,” said Larry Jackson, CEO of LoudMouth Golf. “LoudMouth is confident that the pants will be the wind beneath the Rays’ wings on their way to a LoudMouth Pants Rowland World Series where we fully expect them to meet our hometown San Francisco Giants for the title!”
